Just as quickly as they’d set foot in the safari grounds, he found himself simply ditched.[break][break]

Not that he was expecting much else, but there was something akin to a small kick in the teeth seeing how eager his Pokemon were to leave his side in favor of the new sights and interests around them. With a distant, processing look in his eyes, he stared after the little creatures as they scampered off before ultimately inhaling deeply, holding the breath within his chest, and sighing it out with just as much gravitas.[break][break]

”Right. ‘Kay,” he murmured, a smile of defeat tugging upon his lips as he began to stroll around. ”Just fuckin’ ditch me. Nah, not like I wanted to take a stroll with you guys, nah, not at all~...”[break][break]

He took a deep breath before sighing.[break][break]

So this was what the Hoennian Safari Zone was like, huh? A curious eye skimmed the horizons and nearby pathways as he stepped along them. Idly, his hands slipped into the pockets of his jacket as he continued forward, though every so often, he made sure to peer over his shoulder to keep his Pokemon in sight.[break][break]

While bringing his eyes forward once more, he met eyes with a passing Yamask, slowing to a stop as it continued to float on by. Blinking, he watched as its eyes only flickered towards him for a moment before otherwise ignoring him on its venture towards...wherever it seemed to be going.[break][break]

An involuntary shudder before he, too, continued on.[break][break]

Before long at all, the passing specter was as forgotten as the chill it left behind. Every so often in his stroll, the Rocket brought his steps to a halt—whether absently or otherwise—as he found himself at the mercy of the botany around him. Regardless of how different the regional Safari Zones seemed to be across the other nations, they all seemed to share a singular quality of utmost importance.[break][break]

They were all well-maintained.[break][break]

Imperative, naturally, given what they stood for, but it was still equal parts relieving and pleasant all the same. A soft smile tugged upon his lips as he took all of it in, only sparing a passing Nickit a glimpse before continuing along the pathways.[break][break]

As he entered the bounds of a new zone, the little fox growing further and further behind him only became a fleeting memory. By the look of it, the nearby grounds were a bit...rockier. Less like a swamp like other parts of the place, but more akin to some sort of mountainous mimicry, and once ensuring that his Pokemon hadn't wandered too far for the moment, he took a breath and began to sightsee once more.[break][break]

It hadn't taken long for him to catch a glimpse of mimicry within the mimicry, however, as the sight of a stumbling little creature entered his sight. Just like it was want to do, he automatically assumed it to be another Pokemon entirely, but after taking more than a second's worth of time to look at it, he realized that it was a Mimikyu.[break][break]

He eyed it for a bit before tossing a Safari Ball its way.[break][break]

A while more to retrieve his catch, and he continued on.[break][break]

...But really, there hadn't really been much to see for the moment. Not more than what was obvious, at least. The rocks were rocking; the cliffs were...cliffing. Whatever you'd expect of a sort of mountainous region, the nearby area had it. Wasn't really rocket science. Wasn't really much to gawk at, either.[break][break]

So, it was natural for his own Pokemon to garner his attention, instead, once he looked towards them again. They seemed to be yapping and bouncing between one another— and seemingly while focused on...something. With a curious and concerned eye, he began to walk over before eventually stopping just a bit away.[break][break]

A Seedot at the mercy of his own. He watched a horror-induced wonder as the others passed it around like some sort of ball before sighing and intervening, shooing his own bunch away to give it time to run off.[break][break]

And just as fate would have it, another, poor sucker seemed to enter the scene once the last scuttled off.[break][break]

Thankfully, though, it seemed a bit...tougher. Much less of a pushover, really? That was the impression he got by the way it seemed to integrate itself into the group easily enough, at least. Just like Shieldon were want to to, it emerged from the grass in time to catch attention from his other Pokemon, eying them with a curious look before a sound of resounding and chiming metal rung from its metallic head in greeting.[break][break]

He watched as the more curious ones from his bunch—Comfey and Tinkaton—were the ones to approach it first. Originally, he had to admit that he was a bit worried that they'd sooner pick a fight before returning the gesture, but an unknowingly held breath escaped him relief at the sight of them beginning to mingle and gesture at the shielded Pokemon.[break][break]

He sighed, chuckling and hanging back to allow them the time and space to play around before tossing a Safari Ball when they were done. May as well keep the group together, after all.[break][break]

Another catch to grab, and another on the way, it seemed.[break][break]

As his Pokemon broke off to explore another part of the nearby area, the Rocket had barely had the time to jog over and tuck the newest addition to his roster onto his belt. With a sidelong glance to keep track of them, he breathed a deep breath and sigh, alike, while swiftly crouching and standing back up, barely beginning to take a few steps in stride before another little guy seemed intent to intercept his way.[break][break]

So, to avoid absolutely trampling over him, Taika brought himself to a sharp and instinctive stop, brows raised and eyes slightly wide as he stared down at a Riolu looking up at him with curious eyes.[break][break]

It stared back at him.[break]
He stared back even longer.[break][break]

"...You wanna tag along, Little Blue, or...?"[break][break]

A small yip in response as the aforementioned, 'Little Blue,' looked towards his own group of Pokemon.[break][break]

Again, he stared as he watched it begin to walk over and begin to interact.[break]
He also figured it wouldn't hurt to bring it back with his last Safari Ball after the lot of them were done mingling. Later, of course, but still.[break][break]
